The 16 personalities that exist and which one you are most compatible with

All of them are born from the Myers-Briggs test and develop according to patterns from which you can know which personality you are most compatible with.

The universe of personality tests always pleases at least a little. Surely you have done some, the reason is that we all love not only to know ourselves more, but also how certain patterns fit specifically with our way of being. One of these very famous tests is the Myers-Briggs, an indicator carried out by mother and daughter that is based on the criteria developed by psychologist Carl Gustav Jung in his work Psychological Types. From this test you can better understand how we relate to the world and to others.

The Dimensions of the Myers-Briggs Test

The Myers-Briggs test has to be based on something fundamental. These main points are four dimensions through which the 16 types of personalities that define each person can be classified and explained. Each of them is defined by its main letter. It is important to know this to be able to understand the rest.

As point number one is extraversion (E) or introversion (I), as point number two we find intuition (N) or sensitivity (S), for point number three there are thinking (T) or feeling (F) and As point number four we find judgment (J) or perception (P).

The Combination of Dimensions

After having developed these four dimensions, the different personalities are explained and are born from the combination of all of them, which gives rise to the 16 personalities that we named at the beginning. They all also have a ‘name’ so that, more or less, you can see where the shots are going. As you will see below, after each name, the acronyms of the dimensions that have been used to display them are included.

  1. Architect (INTJ): Reflective, strategic and calculating.
  2. Logical (INTP): Rational, philosophical and profound.
  3. Commander (ENTJ): Direct, communicative and self-confident.
  4. Innovative (ENTP): Energetic, spontaneous and sometimes impulsive.
  5. Lawyer (INFJ): Calm, even-tempered and understanding.
  6. Mediator (INFP): Passionate, thoughtful and sensitive.
  7. Protagonist (ENFJ): Empathetic, charismatic and natural leader.
  8. Activist (ENFP): Spontaneous, sociable and enthusiastic.
  9. Logista (ISTJ): Loyal, reserved and practical.
  10. Defender (ISFJ): Warm, patient and protective.
  11. Executive (ESTJ): Organized, responsible and traditional.
  12. Consul (ESFJ): Kind, helpful and empathetic.
  13. Virtuoso (ISTP): Independent, adventurous and practical.
  14. Adventurous (ISFP): Creative, sensitive and adaptable.
  15. Entrepreneur (ESTP): Bold, energetic and pragmatic.

Compatibility between Personalities

Now that you know the 16 personalities, it’s time to talk about the compatibility between them. It’s important to remember that these are just some general guidelines and that each relationship is unique. Therefore, you should use this as a guide and understand that each person is different and that a couple can change, adapt and improve their way of being so that healthy love is possible.

  1. Extraversion and introversion: Opposites attract, so extraverted people can push introverted people out of their comfort zone, and vice versa. Of course, it is not about forcing, but about creating a possible balance. You will surely discover that introverted people, within intimacy and trust, are not so introverted either and perhaps extroverted people, within intimacy, are calmer and shyer.
  2. Intuition and sensitivity: It is easier to communicate and understand each other when both perceive the world in the same way. Precisely for this reason it is known that, if you are an intuitive person, it is because you also have sensitivity to what is happening and how the rest of the people you know or surround yourself with may become. They tend to be couples who understand emotions, who can have long conversations and who can delve deeper into the other’s feelings through empathy.
  3. Thought vs. feeling: Thinking the same way or thinking differently has its advantages and disadvantages, but it can be an opportunity to learn and grow together. These relationships are those based on a pragmatic person who uses reason to find solutions and another person who relies more on emotions and what they feel to decide. A very useful balance can be formed, although there may also be moments of conflict when it is difficult to reach an understanding. But that’s what relationships are also about, growing with and without obstacles.
  4. Judgment or perception: Opposites do not always attract, it is true, but they can complement each other and help each other grow. That person who is guided by perception helps the person who has judgments to not stick so closely to their principles, to relax and free themselves and, on the other hand, the person who judges or who has very clear principles helps the another to implement their plans, gain momentum and meet objectives.

Now, there are not only these four types of compatibilities; relationships (which are also complex) are surely a combination of all of them.
